Founded in 1960, we are one of the first department of pharmacology in China. The department started to enroll master degree students in 1982 and doctoral students in 1990. In 2005, the discipline of Pharmacology was awarded one of the key disciplines in Jiangsu Province, and became one of the key disciplines of China in 2007. Presently, the current ESI ranking of the subject area in which it is located is in the top 1% of the world.
The discipline of Pharmacokinetics also has rich history and excellent reputation. Faculty members working in this discipline have won the second prize of the State Scientific and Technological Progress Award for twice, and have won the first prize of Scientific and Technological Progress Award of Jiangsu Province for three times. An academic member has been awarded the Outstanding Contribution Award for Young Talents in Science and Technology. In the past five years, this team has headed more than 30 research projects funded by the National Key Project for the New Drug Research, the National Key Research and Development Programme, and the Key Project of the National Natural Science Foundation of China..
