Founded as one of the first departments of our university, pharmaceutics is one of the first national key disciplines. We are one of the first departments in China that can award master's degree and doctoral degree in Pharmaceutics, approved by the State Council. Professor Chen Siyi and Professor Liu Guojie, the renowned pharmaceutic scientists, are the founders of our department. They compiled the textbook of pharmaceutics firstly in China. They also took the lead in introducing and translating the foreign textbooks of Biopharmaceutics and Pharmacokinetics, which provide a solid foundation for the compilation of our domestic textbooks for pharmaceutics. The department of pharmaceutics been awarded the Major with Characteristics at provincial and national level, and the Branded Major of Jiangsu Province. Additionally, our department was selected as one of the National First-class Undergraduate Major Construction Sites in 2020. Five teaching materials edited by our teachers have been chosen as the national planning materials, and 3 as Jiangsu Province planning materials. These textbooks have become pivotal textbooks in the training of pharmacy-related professionals in higher education of China. Further, they have won the second prize of the Ministry of Education's Excellent Teaching Achievement Award, and the first prize of the Outstanding Teaching Achievement Award of Jiangsu Province.
At present, our department has a total of 49 faculty and staff, including 11 postdoctors. 22 of them are professors, and 27 of them are associate professors.
