On the morning of October 26, the opening ceremony of “Pharmacology Public Experimental Platform” and first seminar was held in the Report Hall of Jingguanwen Building, Jiangning Campus. On the seminar, Prof. Jiang Bin, School of Basic Medical Sciences, Sun Yat-Sen University, Prof. Ma Tengfei, School of Pharmacy, Nanjing Medical University, and Dr. Wang Hao, Institute of Neuroscience, Zhejiang University were invited to deliver academic reports. Lu Tao, Vice President of CPU, and Zhang Shiying, Party Secretary of School of Pharmacy along with representatives of faculties and students attended the conference. The seminar was presided over by Prof. Hong Tao, Department of Pharmacology, School of Pharmacy.
Under the witness of attendees, Vice President Lu Tao and Secretary Zhang Shiying together inaugurated the platform first. In the following speech, Lu Tao extended his sincere appreciation for the hard work devoted by each department and faculties participated in the platform construction. He said that as another new public experimental platform, pharmacology public experimental platform constitutes the significant part of the “Double-First Class” project of CPU. It will with no doubt support the development of pharmacology and accelerate the construction of the “Double-First Class” project. President Lu also put forward three expectations: first, the platform is hoped, under strict management, operate sufficiently and serve the whole university with high quality; second, students should work hard to fully exploit and make good use of the instruments; last but not least, faculties should actively use such high-end instruments to promote and lead the development of disciplines, and provide technical support for creating first-class achievements.
After the ceremony, the three experts, based on their own research achievements on patch clamp technique, delivered academic reports respectively. During the detailed lecture, they also made in-depth communications and interactions with many teachers and students, which lit up the pleasant atmosphere.
