CPU Held the Second Seminar on Reference Standard Research

    On January 6, the second seminar on “Reference Standard Research of Pharmaceutical Excipients and Packaging Materials” was held in CPU. This seminar was organized by Pharmaceutical Excipients and Generic Drug R&D Evaluation Center, School of Pharmacy, co-organized by International Pharmaceutical Excipients Association (China), and invited experts from Jiangsu Institute for Food and Drug Control and other research institutes. The conference also attracted the participation of many well-known domestic and foreign pharmaceutical companies and pharmaceutical excipient companies, including Roche, Sanofi, Merck Chemical, Johnson & Johnson Pharmaceuticals, BASF, DuPont, Dow Chemical, Evonik, Colorcon, Lubrizol, Roquette, Ashland, Croda Chemicals, Jaffa, Reedenmeier, Kerry, Grace, RonPharm, SunherePharmaceutical Excipients, Gedian Humanwell, GenCloud, Capsugel (Suzhou), Lefancaps, Chongqing Hengsheng Pharmaceutical Capsule, Shandong Liaocheng Huayang Pharmaceutical Excipients, and Guizhou Xin Zi Hong Pharmaceutical Excipients. The seminar was presided over by Prof. Tu Jiasheng, Department of Pharmaceutical.

 

    On the conference, Prof. Tu first introduced basic conditions of the research, and then Madame Wang Liming, President of IPEC(China) introduced the representatives of participating companies. Based on the first seminar, this conference further discussed the type of pharmaceutical excipients to be studied in this research; each company focused on introducing their own relevant excipients and expressed opinions and made in-depth discussions on the reference standards and annotation styles to be established in this research.

 

    Pharmaceutical excipients and packaging materials, as the essential part during the process of drug production, distribution and use, have a direct impact on all aspects of drug quality, such as safety, effectiveness, stability and controllability. The development of this research is of great significance for constructing and improving the quality standard system of pharmaceutical excipients and packaging materials, improving the quality of generic drugs, conducting consistency evaluation, and promoting formulation innovation.

 

    After the conference, the participants also visited CPU's Pharmaceutical Excipients and Generic Drug R&D Evaluation Center.
